Winter Training is an integral part of being a spring canoe kayak athlete in Canada. At the RCC, athletes have an opportunity to cross train doing a variety of activities such as running, skating, weight lifting, swimming, pool paddling, paddling erg, and yoga.
Weekly Schedule:
Monday - Erg & Weights*
Tuesday - Cardio Circuit 6:00am-7:30am, Run / Erg 4:00pm-6:00pm
Wednesday - Erg & Weights*
Thursday - Run / Erg 7:30am - 8:45am, Swim 8:15pm-9:15pm
Friday - Erg & Weights*
Saturday - Run/Ski 8 am- 10:30 am; Weights 2 pm- 4 pm**
Sunday - Canoe 4:30pm-6:30pm
*morning and afternoon timeslots will be available
**depending on the weights cycle
We may add more sessions as the winter progresses to ensure everyone is prepared for the upcoming season.
Additional sessions may become available for athletes in university and/or on the National Team to prepare for early training camps.
The winter session will start on November 12th, 2024 and end on April 6, 2025.
