Registration

  • Monday evenings for 1.5 hours within the 6-8pm block (participants will be in small pods with staggered start and finish times according to the Covid protocols)
    Dates: July 5, 12, 19, 26, August 9, 16 (please note there is no program on Mon., Aug. 2)
  • Wednesday evenings for 1.5 hours within the 6-8pm block (participants will be in small pods with staggered start and finish times according to the Covid protocols)
    Dates: July 7, 14, 21, 28, August 4, 11
  • Tuesday and Thursday for 1 hour within the 6-8 block (participants will be in small pods with staggered start and finish times according to the Covid protocols)
    Dates: 7 weeks starting June 24 and ending August 12 (no program on July 1)
  • Special Olympics 1:1 coaching to provide a calmer and more focused environment for building confidence and skills on the water.
    five 75 minute sessions (dates and time provided by coach)
  • Paracanoe Small Group coaching. Ten 75 minute sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays. (dates and time provided by coach)
Special Olympics & Paracanoe Paddling Program 
Recreational and sprint canoes and kayaks are used to introduce paddlers with intellectual and physical disabilities to the sport of sprint racing. The program includes a safety orientation, technical instruction, and instruction by experienced coaches. Each paddler will have an experienced paddling partner for 1:1 support. Although all abilities are welcome, you must be comfortable on the water.

Recreational Youth night: a program that meets once a week for youth ages 7-18. Every paddler with their paddling buddy, chooses their own boat based on comfort level and the evening is tailored to meet each paddler's needs. The focus is on fun and safety.

Recreational Adult: a program that meets once a week for adults ages 19 and older. Every paddler with their paddling buddy, chooses their own boat based on comfort level and the evening is tailored to assist each participant to meet their own goals whether for recreation, exercise, or technical development

Competitive Program: this group meets twice a week with a focus on technique and racing preparation. The goal for this group is to compete at a number of regattas with the possibility of competing at the National Championships.
