First Aid & CPR Certification offered by Lifesaving Society will take place over 2 days (April 27&28), while the Recertification will be 1 day (April 28) of training.
This course is standard first aid and it covers handling emergency situations regarding medical emergencies such cardiovascular emergencies, seizures, asthma, anaphylaxis, poisoning and environmental emergencies.
Participants will also learn how to handle traumatic emergencies such as bleeding, sprains, strains, fractures and eye injuries.
CPR level C will also be included covering adult, child, infant CPR and obstructed airway treatments.
You can only participate in the recertification on April 28 if you had your certification within the last 3 years with the Lifesaving Society. If you received your certification through another agency (ex: Red Corss or St.John's Ambulance) you cannot participate in the recertification. You can participate in the certification on April 27 & 28 regardless of the previous agency if it has been more than 3 years.
A minimum of 5 participants in the 2 days certification is required to run this session and a maximum of 15 participants total.
*If the session is full, please register for the waitlist. Numbers on the waitlist will help determine if another session needs to be planned.
**Please keep copies of your receipts. If you get hired, a form will be sent to employees in the summer where you can claim your training expenses.
