Fitness paddling sessions are designed to offer paddlers the opportunity to combine a fantastic core work out with basic to advanced kayak drills, techniques and games. Each session delivers a structured workout program offering low-impact training with high-impact results.
Participants can use their own boats, paddles, or those provided by the Club.
Program Details
Spring/Summer/Fall 1: Monday/Wednesday 6-7:30 PM
Spring/Summer/Fall 2: Tuesday/Thursday 6 AM - 7:30 AM
Spring/Summer/Fall 3: Tuesday/Thursday 6-7:30 PM
- Prerequisite: Intro to Sea Kayak or equivalent experience
- Minimum participants per session: 6
- Maximum participants per session: 14
- Please note sessions on Statutory Holidays will be moved to the Friday of the same week.
- Minimum age is 21

What to Bring
- Transport Canada Approved PFD (life jacket)
- Comfortable, loose fitting clothing preferably made of quick drying fabric (you will get wet!)
- Enough water for the length of the session
- Sun screen
- Hat, sunglasses, rain jacket & pants (if needed)
Should you take the Intro to Sea Kayak session before joining Fitness Paddling?
1. Have I ever received formal instruction?
2. Do I currently or have paddled several times a season? At Least 1-2 times a week.
3. General experience in other flat water paddling boats like sand-up-paddling, canoe, etc.
If the answer is no to question #1, you should register for the Intro to Sea Kayak session. The other 2 questions provide general indication of water experience.
Inclement Weather
Canoe Fun kids can still have fun in the rain! However, if there is heavy rain, gusty winds, thunderstorms we can not be on the water. If inclement weather is forecasted on the Weather Network we will cancel the session and will contact you (up to 30 minutes prior).
